Sezen Aksu is without a doubt the most important Turkish artist in the last decades. She has sold over 20 million albums and her influence on the progress of Turkish popular culture is huge. Her original repertoire has obvious links with French chansons (Edith Piaff-Jacques Brell) but also with girlpower pop musicians like Madonna. Of course laced with the influence of the huge Turkish music tradition, she created a whole new vocabulary. Many artists cover her songs and she writes songs for artists like Tarkan a.m.o.
In 2010 Eric was asked to join the Acoustic band because they were looking for an acoustic bass player that could improvise, play different types of Turkish music but also laid back rock grooves like Led Zeppelin. The Acoustic Band is a real working band meaning they play many concerts each year. The band features acclaimed top musicians like Jarrod Cagwin, Fahir Atakoglu, Fatih Ahiskali, Ozer Arkun & Goksun Cavdar.
With them Eric toured the globe playing concert halls like The Royal Albert Hall London, Carnegie Hall New York, Koelner Philharmony, Circus Stockholm and open air shows up to 40.000 people.
